Many replacements LED fixtures offer improved lighting quality and energy savings through designs specifically leveraging the flexibility of LEDs. Typical efficiency is > 90% in the higher power applications in spite of most designs being two-stage conversion.

Standby power for multi-function units:

Differentiating features like RF and visible-light communication require continuous power which challenges significant reductions in standby power draw.

Standby power requirements under 300mW are now common while some applications specify under 100mW. IEC62301 is the standard for standby power measurement.
